Soviet servicemen of the Red Army inspect a Japanese serf 150mm Type 96 gun captured on the 171th hill of Shumshu Island.

The gun belonged to the second artillery battalion under the command of Colonel Moto Sakaguchi, who was part of the Kuril serf regiment. During the landing, the 150mm Type-96 guns fired on Soviet ships in the strait and on the coastal battery at Cape Lopatka (Kamchatka).
