Underwater war: Japanese patrol ship No. 39 (class “Momi”, until April 1, 1940 destroyer “Tade”, displacement of 850 tons) sinks, after the torpedo hits.
The Japanese patrol ship was torpedoed by the American submarine “Seawolf” under the command of Lieutenant-Lieutenant Royce Gross, while escorting the damaged ship “Nissin Maru No. 2”.
