Japanese “Tone” heavy cruiser in the sea after leaving the Hasirajima.
The photo shows the first mile of the First Mobile Connection of the ships to Midway. Tone heavy cruiser was part of the 8th Division of cruisers under the command of Rear Admiral Abe Hiroaki to cover aircraft carriers of Admiral Nagumo.
