Japanese bombers Nakajima B5N2 (according to the Allied classification – Kate) from the aircraft carrier Hiryū (飛龍) under heavy anti-aircraft fire attacks the American aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CV-5) during the Battle of Midway.
At least three Japanese bombers are visible in the frame, the closest of which has clearly dropped its torpedo. The other two, lower and closer to the center, are definitely out of the fight.
