Lieutenant Iyozo Fujita commanded a group of fighters from the aircraft carrier “Sōryū”, which was part of the second wave that attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
He participated in the battles of Midway, the Solomon Islands, the Battle of Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.
He flew combat missions in the skies of Formosa and over the islands of the Japanese metropolis.
The final combat score of this Japanese pilot is unknown. The number of enemy aircraft shot down in various sources ranges from eleven to forty-two, but only seven aerial victories have been officially confirmed.
