Raimondo Montecuccoli light cruiser, construction commenced on October 01, 1931, launched on August 02, 1934, accepted into the Italian Royal Navy on June 30, 1935.
On December 4, 1943, the cruiser was heavily damaged by American bombers in Naples and remained under repair until almost the end of World War II.
The technical characteristics: displacement – 7431 tons (standard), 8858 (full). Length – 167 m (waterline), 177 m (deck), width – 16 m, draft – 6 m. Power plant capacity – 106 thousand hp. The maximum speed is 37 knots. Cruising range – 4411 miles at a speed of 18 knots. The crew is 650 people.
Armament: eight 152-mm L / 53 cannons in four twin-turrets, six 100-mm L / 47 anti-aircraft guns in three two-gun mountings, four twin 37-mm L / 54 anti-aircraft guns, four twin 13.2-mm anti-aircraft machine guns, two 533 mm torpedo tubes, one catapult, two seaplanes.
