Before the Great Russian revolution (1917), this hotel was called “Metropol”. It was one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, but during the German occupation it suffered very badly and was not subject to restoration. In place of the Hotel Krasnaya after the war, a new building was built, the architecture usual for that time.
