Richard Tesařík (second lieutenant) especially distinguished himself in battles for the liberation of Kiev in November 1943, commanding a company of light tanks T-70. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of December 21, 1943, for the skillful command of a tank company and for showing courage and heroism in battles with the German fascist invaders, Czechoslovak citizen Sub-Lieutenant Richard Tesarik was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 1693) ).
During the Carpathian-Dukla operation, in the battle for height No. 694, Richard Tesařík was seriously wounded, lost his left eye. But a month later, the officer was again on the front line. War Richard Tesařík ended in the Czech Silesia.
