Grumman TBF Avenger: Wounded American gunner Kenneth Bratton was evacuated from the cockpit by his comrades after completing a sortie. On board the aircraft carrier Saratoga (USS Saratoga, CV-3).
Kenneth Bratton was injured during a TBF Avenger bombers raid on Rabaul.

Grumman TBF/TBM Avenger is American torpedo bomber designed for the Navy and the Marine Corps of the United States, used in several other countries.
Grumman TBF Avenger entered the army in 1942, first took part in the battles during the battle at Midway Atoll.
