German ace Wilhelm Baltazar, one of the first heroes of the Nazi Luftwaffe, poses near his fighter Messerschmitt Bf.109.
On the steering wheel of the aircraft are marks of 26 pilot air victories.

Wilhelm Baltazar died July 3, 1941 in a battle against the British “Spitfires” – his Messerschmitt Bf.109 latest F-4 modification broke into a tailspin and crashed.
