“King Tiger” №222 of SS-Pz.-Abt. 501 will be lost near the bridge over the Amblev River in Stavelot on the night of December 19, 1944 as part of the Zandig battle group. It was destroyed by bazooka shots of the 291st sapper battalion of the 30th US infantry division. There is also information that the self-propelled gun M10 (commander Sgt. Ray Dudley) of the 823rd battalion of tank destroyers participated in the destruction of the “Tiger” According to others, the “Tiger” fell under the bombing of Allied aviation on December 20, 1944.
