German girl in front of a Kiev shop window

German girl Inge, having arrived in Nazi-occupied Kiev, decided to go shopping. The assortment of this store remains from the pre-war period, and in the eyes of this German girl it looks like antiques.

This is the third photo of the German girl from the Nazi propaganda report “A Young Girl Came to Kiev” (“Ein junges Mädchen kommt nach Kiew”), published in the Berlin newspaper “Berliner Illustrierte Zeitung” on October 22, 1942. The heroine of the report is a 19-year-old German girl Inge , who came to Kiev to work in a German company (apparently, Inge is a Volksdeutsche). Eight photographs of the reportage show Inge’s day in Kiev: arrival, accommodation in a hotel, shopping, a visit to the beach, lunch at a restaurant and cafe, and also the first exit to work.
