German 6th army advances towards Stalingrad, WWII

Mechanized units (Stug III F, Citroën-23 truck) of the German 6th Army under command of Field Marshal Friedrich von Paulus is offensive to Stalingrad. August 1942. Eastern front, The Second World War.

 

Six months later, the German 6th Army in the Soviet offensive at Stalingrad will be surrounded and destroyed. February 2, 1943 the 6th Army surrendered, 91 thousand soldiers and officers, including the headquarters of the army led by Field Marshal von Paulus, surrendered.
