Ivan Andreevich Krachevsky (November 25, 1925 – July 12, 1974) was born in the village of Vorontsovo-Aleksandrovka (now the city of Zelenokumsk) of the Stavropol Territory. On August 8, 1942, he was drafted into the Red Army and enlisted in the platoon of foot reconnaissance of the rifle regiment, in which he fought almost until the end of the war. Ivan Krachevsky participated in the Battle for the Caucasus, the liberation of Ukraine and Czechoslovakia. In 1946-1947, he was part of the forces of the Carpathian Military District in the liquidation of gangs of Ukrainian nationalists.
