In June 1940 the 51st battalion was immersed in a train and headed for the front line. The railroad was subjected to massive bombardments by German aircraft, and as a result, it was impossible to unload the armored vehicles due to its size and weight in combat. Tanks were set on fire and abandoned by its crews.
