Major Antonov (1908-1942) is famous Russian fighter pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union (1940). Born January 24, 1908 in the village of Malakhovo Novgorod region.

Yakov is the Member of the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940, for which March 21, 1940 he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.

During World War II he served as commander of the 84th A fighter regiment. August 25, 1942, Yakov Antonov was shot down over the Mozdok by plane I-153 and, as the Soviet documents, was killed.
