Ferdinand Porsche poses next to the Volkswagen-38 (KdF-38) test car.
Worldwide, this machine is known as the Volkswagen Beetle. However, at the opening of the plant in Wolfsburg, Adolf Hitler stated that the car would be called “Kraft durch Freude” (“Strength through Joy”), in honor of the German Nazi social organization.
Behind Ferdinand Porsche is the famous Albertina Palace on the eponymous square of Vienna. The monument to Archduke Albrecht is clearly visible.
