Erich von dem Bach-Zelewski (German: Erich Julius Eberhard von dem Bach), born March 1, 1899 in Lauenburg, Pomerania, died March 8, 1972 in Munich, West Germany) was an SS-Obergruppenführer, general of police and general of the SS troops.
Since June 1941, he has been the highest leader of the SS and police in occupied Central Russia and Belarus. Since November 1941, von dem Bach-Zelewski – SS Obergruppenführer and Police General. In October 1942, he was appointed “plenipotentiary of the Reichsführer-SS for the fight against partisan gangs”.
