Iron Duke battleship was commissioned in 1914. October 17, 1939 during the bombing of the Scapa Flow base by German aircraft, the Iron Duke battleship received several bomb hits and sank to the bottom of the bay. Throughout the war, it was used as a fixed artillery battery.
