English female soldiers, the anti-aircraft gunners from the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) run to combat posts after the air raid alert.

In the background of the English female soldiers, male anti-aircraft gunners of the British anti-aircraft gun (114 mm Q.F. 4,5-in) are preparing for firing.

It should be noted that a month after the English female soldirs photo was taken, Nazi air raids on Britain declined because of the start of World War II against the USSR.
