His Highness the Dutch Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld inside a Swedish-made Landsverk M36 armored car.
In 1937, the Netherlands ordered 36 L-180 / L-181 armored vehicles equipped with a 37-mm cannon and three 7.92-mm machine guns from Landsverk in Sweden. In Holland, they received the designation Pantserwagen М36 (L-181) and Pantserwagen М38 (L-180).
During the German invasion of the Netherlands, only the 3rd armored car squadron, equipped with 12 of the Landsverk M36 armored vehicles, took part in the battles. In mid-May 1940 Dutch M38s took part in heavy fighting near The Hague and north of Rotterdam. After the surrender of Holland, the Nazis captured about a dozen Landsverk M36 of which they managed to restore eight armored vehicles.
