Douglas Aircraft Company is a former American aircraft manufacturing company based in Santa Monica, California. It was founded by Donald Douglas Sr. in 1921, and in 1967 teamed up with McDonnell Aircraft to create McDonnell Douglas. Following the merger, the Douglas Aircraft Company was a division of McDonnell Douglas.
