The personnel of the American airbase on Iwo Jima are watching the fire extinguishing in the damaged engine of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress.
This American Boeing B-29 Superfortress heavy four-engine bomber from the 505th group was damaged by its own propeller in the raid on Yokohama (Japan) – due to engine failure, the propeller fell off and hit the fuselage.
On three engines, the Boeing B-29 Superfortress reached Iwo Jima, where it lost control and rammed the tail of another B-29 bomber when landing. The collision resulted in a damaged nose and a destroyed air gun turret.
