Infantry Tank Mk.IV Churchill, A22 – an infantry tank of the British army during the Second World War, heavy in weight. Delivered to the USSR under the Lend-Lease program. Designed in 1939-1940, it was mass-produced from 1941 to 1945 and became one of the most numerous British tanks of World War II. Like all “infantry” tanks, the “Churchill” was notable for its low speed, however, powerful armor (frontal armor 101 mm, later increased to 152 mm) ensured the effectiveness of combat use until the end of World War II. By the end of the 1950s, the Churchill was withdrawn from service, but a number of these tanks in the flamethrower version took part in the Korean War.
