Orlov urged in every way possible the Christian Baptists of the USSR to participate in the common cause of the defense of the Fatherland and to donate to the needs of the Red Army. Since Baptists are prejudiced against the armed forces, the Dobry Samaritan peaceful ambulance plane was built with the funds raised.
In the modern Baptist press, the activities of Mikhail Orlov are condemned for following the interests of the state.
