Carpiquet Airfield

 

Carpiquet Airfield, Soldiers from the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division inspect a German bunker near a French village during the Invasion of  Normandy. Western Front, World War II.
Along the upper edge of the German Carpiquet Airfield bunker, there are metal rings and a steel bar, through which a camouflage net was attached to hide the entrances to the bunker. Scraps of camouflage net are visible near the left edge of the photo.
