German sailors

Captured German sailors of the Nazi Kriegsmarine, rescued by the British from the dead Scharnhorst battleship.

The German Scharnhorst battleship was sunk by the forces of the British fleet on December 26, 1943 at Cape Nordkap near Norway. Of the entire crew of the 1968 German sailors only 36 sailors survived.
