Helmuth Weidling (November 2, 1891, Halberstadt, Saxony-Anhalt, German Empire – November 17, 1955, Vladimir Central, Vladimir City, Soviet Russia) is a General of Artillery Force of the German Army (Wehrmacht). Commander of the defense of the capital of the Third Reich and the last commandant of the city of Berlin. He died in prison while serving a sentence for war crimes in the USSR.
