The firing position, captured by the Nazis, of the French heavy 240-mm gun of the St Chamond concern, model 84/17, in the Second World War.

Several copies of these guns were used in the campaign of 1940, all of them were captured by the Wehrmacht and under the designation 24 cm gun K.556 (f) were used in the coastal defense system of the Atlantic Wall.

240 mm French gun mod. 84/17 (St Chamond), caliber – 240 mm, barrel length in calibers – 29.2, shell weight – 161 kg, muzzle velocity – 575 m / s. Range – 17300 m, shelling in degrees (vert.) – 0 + 38, (horiz.) – 10, weight in combat position – 31000 kg.
