The Spikenard Corvette was used in the North Atlantic to escort Allied naval convoys between Halifax and the Western approaches.
The Spikenard corvette was sunk by a torpedo from a German U-136 submarine on February 11, 1942, escorted by an SC67 convoy (8 crew members escaped).
