Canadian Navy WW2 Corvette of the Flower type in the port. Battle of the Atlantic
Canadian Navy WW2 corvettes were created at Smith’s Dock Co. Ltd South Bank in Middlesbrough (Great Britain) on the basis of the Southern Pride whaling ship, which was built somewhat earlier than the 160-foot (48 m) ship there. The 1939 program provided for the construction of 56 units of such corvettes, the names of the flowers were used, and the entire series received the general name “Flower”.
