Bittersweet Corvette

The Canadian Bittersweet Corvette (HMCS Bittersweet) at sea in May 1943.

“Bittersweet” corvette – number K182, class – Flower.
“Bittersweet” corvette was built in the UK. Construction began on April 17, 1940, launched on September 12, 1940, accepted into the Canadian navy on January 23, 1941.

Used in the North Atlantic to escort sea convoys between Halifax and Liverpool.

Dismissed from the Canadian Navy in 1945 and returned to Britain.
