Brazilian P-47D-28-RE Thunderbolt American-made fighter-attack aircraft of the 2nd Lieutenant José Rebelo Meira from the 1st Fighter Air Group at an Italian airfield.

The 1st Brazilian Fighter Group operated against the German forces in Italy from the fall of 1944 until the end of World War II in Europe. The motto of the air group was the cry of “Senta Pύa!”. This motto became part of the emblem, which was applied to the uniforms of the pilots and aircraft fuselages.
