Boeing B-29 Ramblin Roscoe bomber after the crash on Iwo Jima

 

The heavy bomber Boeing B-29 Ramblin Roscoe (№42-24664) from the 500th Air Group of the US Air Force was returning from a night raid in Tokyo on the April 13, 1945 (the mission number 42).

Japanese fighters knocked out two engines, landing gear and damaged. When planting Boeing B-29 bomber Ramblin Roscoe crashed, collided with a truck, killed Seabee (maritime construction contract battalion) and wounded two people who slept in a tent.
The Boeing B-29 Ramblin Roscoe bomber is board number 23, tail symbol Z.
