On January 12, 1945, in the area of ​​the Italian city of Brescia, the Nazis anti-aircraft fire was interrupted by the oil pipe in the engine of the P-47 Thunderbolt and oil was leaking from the engine. The pilot, 1st Lt. Edwin L. King from the 347th Squadron of the 350th Fighter Group of the 12th Air Force of the US Air Force, managed to bring the plane to the base and land it.
