Major Richard Bong (Ira “Dick”) the most productive American fighter pilot of the World War II in the Pacific ocean.

During the War in the Pacific he won 40 victories. Major Richard Bong flew on the fighters P-40 and P-38. He was awarded the Medal of Honor of the US Congress, Cross for outstanding services, Silver Star. Major Richard Bon died on August 6, 1945, when he tested the new F-80 jet aircraft “Shooting Star”.
