American F4U Corsair carrier-based fighter aircraft are chasing the Japanese bomber Yokosuka P1Y Ginga (the plane was codenamed Francis among the Allies).
The F4U Corsair photograph shows one of the episodes of the attack by Japanese aircraft of American ships in the Okinawa area. The obstructive fire of American ships is visible in the form of tracer shells of 20-mm Oerlikon anti-aircraft guns aimed at the Japanese bomber.
