Acoustic locator

 

The Soviet Acoustic locator ZT-5 from the Red Army Air Defense is trying to detect the sound of the engines of German Luftwaffe bombers in the sky over the USSR. Eastern Front, World War II in Europe.
Acoustic locator ZT-5 was used for early detection by the sound of operating engines of fast-flying enemy aircraft at any time of the day and in any weather. Russian soldiers to the left, with cables attached to their helmets, listen to signals from the metal bells of the ZT-5.
