A lonely German girl in a Kiev restaurant - a report about her arrival in Kiev, a photo report of Nazi propaganda
A lonely German girl

A lonely German girl Inge at the Im Deutschen Haus restaurant in Nazi-occupied Kiev. This is a huge restaurant with a capacity of 2000 visitors. In the hall there are mainly Wehrmacht soldiers and officers and officials of the civil occupation administration. The restaurant staff are Ukrainians.

This is the fifth photo of the lonely German girl from the Nazi propaganda report “A young girl has arrived in Kiev” (“Ein junges Mädchen kommt nach Kiew”), published in the Berlin newspaper “Berliner Illustrierte Zeitung” on October 22, 1942. The heroine of the report is a 19-year-old lonely German girl Inge, who came to Kiev to work in a German company (apparently, Inge is a Volksdeutsche). Eight photographs of the reportage show Inge’s day in Kiev: arrival, accommodation in a hotel, shopping, a visit to the beach, lunch at a restaurant and cafe, and also the first exit to work.
