The lifting mechanism of a Nazi-captured French heavy 240 mm St Chamond model 84/17 cannon in the Battle of France during World War II in Western Europe.
Several of these 240 mm St Chamond model 84/17 cannons were used in the 1940 campaign. All of them were captured by the Nazis and under the designation 24 cm gun K.556(f) were used in the coastal defense system of the Atlantic Wall.
