World War 2 photo: Japanese PoWs (the prisoners of war) captured by Red Army on the construction of the Farhad hydropower station on the Syr Darya River in Soviet Russia after the defeat of the Imperial Army in the Far East.
About 5,000 Japanese PoWs participated in the construction of the Farhad hydropower plant in the USSR from 1945 to 1956.
