Wehrmacht soldiers stand near the corpses of dead civilians-Jews of Tarnopol (from 1944 – Ternopil), who lie near the building of the District Court.
After the Wehrmacht entered the city in Tarnopolsky prison, the bodies of prisoners executed by the NKVD troops before the retreat of the Red Army, including German prisoners of war, were found. After that, a pogrom began in Tarnopol, the victims of which were many Soviet Jews.
