Underground factory "Junkers" for the Heinkel He-162 «Salamander»


The assembly line of the jet Heinkel He-162 “Salamander” fighter in the underground factory of the company “Junkers” in Tarthun, Germany. Huge halls of the underground plant in a salt mine were found 1st US Army during the offensive to Magdeburg.

Total produced 116 fighters of the Heinkel He-162, but on the ground of the German aircraft plants in various stages of readiness there were still more than 1,000 aircraft.
