The wreckage of a Boeing B-29 “Little Clambert” bomber (serial number 42-24582) and a Boeing B-29 “Last Resort” bomber heavily damaged by an explosion at a 40th bomber airfield in Chakulia in India.
During the unloading of M-47 ammunition by crews from the 44th Bomber Squadron, bombs detonated due to careless handling. The Boeing B-29 “Little Clambert” was destroyed on the spot, and the Boeing B-29 “Last Resort” was subsequently decommissioned due to multiple damage.

Nine people were killed and twenty-one was injured.
