World War 2 photo: The Svobodny destroyer of the 7U project from the Black Sea Fleet, which was sunk in June 10, 1942 by the German dive bombers of the VIII air corps of General Wolfram von Richthofen in the ship’s bay during the siege of Sevastopol.
At the time of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the destroyer Svobodny had not yet completed the mooring trials and in August 1941 moved to Sevastopol for completion. January 8, 1942 joined the Black Sea Fleet of the Soviet Union.
