The navigator-shooter of the wing of the 210th bomber air regiment, senior lieutenant Pyotr Alekseyevich Zemlyakov (1915-1943), flew to the Su-2 bomber in the winter of 1941, paired with twice Hero of the Soviet Union Georgy Flegontovich Sivkov (1921-2009).
After retraining on IL-2, their paths diverged: they ran single-seat aircraft – without covering the rear hemisphere.
The navigator-shooter Pyotr Zemlyakov was killed on December 15, 1943. He was buried in the village of Dobrohoscha, Zhlobinsky district, Gomel region, Belarus, the USSR.
The Peter Zemlyakov photo is dated to the training in the flight school in 1938-1939.
