The Italian light cruisers Emmanuele Filiberto Duca d’Aosta and Eugenio di Svoia are moving into the area of ​​the T-mine minefield to the north of Tripoli.
The barrage from German contact mines was exposed on May 1, 1941.
On the night of 18 to 19 December 1941, the Maltese strike force of the British, consisting of three cruisers and four destroyers, jumped on this minefield. The light cruiser Neptune and the destroyer Kandahar were wrecked and sunk, another cruiser was damaged and repaired for 13 weeks.
