The mountain of hooves of horses that the Nazis ate, who were surrounded by the forces of the Red Army at the Battle of Stalingrad.
After encircling the 6th field army of Wehrmacht near Stalingrad and blocking the ways of its food supply, the German troops began a famine. The Nazis ate all livestock, requisitioned from the locals, all domestic animals and horses killed during the fighting in Stalingrad.
