The execution by hanging of Soviet underground fighters in Minsk

 

This is the first public execution by hanging in the Nazi-occupied territories, on the day in Minsk at the plant arch hanged 12 Soviet underground fighters, helped the wounded Red Army to escape from captivity. The execution by hanging carried out by volunteers of the 2nd Battalion of the auxiliary police service from Lithuania, commanded by Maj. Antanas Impulevičius.
