German u-boat photos: The crew of the Nazi U-73 submarine of the Kriegsmarine in leisure hours during Second World War.
German u-boat photos: U-73 is medium German Type VIIB submarine. The submarine made 15 combat trips, sank 8 vessels with a total displacement of 43,945 brts and 4 warships with a total displacement of 22,947 tons.
U-73 submarine was sunk on December 16, 1943 in the Mediterranean Sea near Oran by depth charges and artillery fire from the American destroyers Wolsey (USS Woolsey) and Trip (USS Trippe). 16 crew members died, 34 crew members were saved.
